New Main Event For 'A Night of Knockout Fights' May 6 In Little Rock PDF Print E-mail

From Brandon Foster

Bad Boy Promotions

BATESVILLE, AR - There is a new main event to the May 6 "A Night of Knockout Fights" card in Little Rock, presented by Bad Boy Promotions and Electric Cowboy.

Originally, we had Mississippi's Bobby Bryant fighting in the main event, but because of some issues with the Arkansas Athletic Commission, we were unable to get Bryant approved for the card. We then looked to put Arlington,VA's Justin Ridgeway in against Dumfries, VA's Derek Amos in a cruiserweight bout for the new main event. But that fight has been scratched.

We are now lucky to announce we have the main event this card needs. It will be Little Rock's own heavyweight Randy Johnson (3-2, 2KOs) squaring off with 6-foot-2, 220-pound Nick "Bad News" Brown (0-1), fighting out of Baton Rouge.

This is a bout where we have two big men and can almost assure a devastating knockout. Johnson has fought out of Little Rock's ABC Gym for years and has trained with the likes of Jermaine Taylor and Terry Smith and other fighters who have made a name for themselves and fought for world titles, whichJohnson hopes to do some day.

Brown, on the other hand, started off his career with a loss two years ago. He is now in training at Gladiator Gym in Baton Rouge and has high hopes of coming away with a victory and turning his career around.

There will be many other exciting bouts on the card as well, including undefeated Fort Smith, AR light heavyweight prospect Sherman Guy (2-0, 1 KO), who will be in the toughest fight of his career against Nashville's James Jones (0-2).

Boxing fans will also see Batesville's hard-hitting southpaw middleweight Hunter Limbaugh in his pro debut. along with crowd-pleasing welterweight Caleb Turpitt (0-1), out of Sheridan, AR.

There will be a minimum of six bouts. We will have a special guest from The Contender I series making a special appearance as well.

Tickets are currently on sale at Electric Cowboy, or by calling 501-562-6000. One must be 21 to enter the Electric Cowboy.
