The 74th annual Chattanooga Golden Gloves is scheduled for March 12-13 at Central High School in Harrison, TN. The school is located at 5728 Hwy. 58. Teams from nine states, including Ohio, are expected to attend. Coaches are urged to contact coach Andy Smith as soon as possible, no later than 9 p.m. on March 10. Amateur Boxing
Ragin' Cajun Boxing Club won five of seven bouts on March 6 at Kenner, LA, and won the team trophy. Ragin' Cajun boxers who won their bouts included Wilfred Fuselier, Dylan Landry, Hunter Marvin, Shay Lambright and Cade Duckworth. Fuselier's bout was selected as the Fight of the Night.

Women's Boxing
Van Buren, AR native and former world minimumweight world champion Hollie Dunaway won a split decision over previously unbeaten Chantel Cordova on Jan. 28 at the Coca-Cola Center in Oklahoma City, OK. Dunaway's manager, Ron Brand, tells Deep South Boxing Dunaway controlled the action throughout and should have won the fight by unanimous decision. Dunaway is a current resident of Las Vegas.

Lineup Set For Saturday's Hollywood Casino Bay St. Louis Card PDF Print E-mail

BAY ST. LOUIS, MS - Hollywood Casino Bay St. Louis announced on Tuesday the weigh-in times and updated card lineup for the Saturday (Jan. 23) professional boxing card. The six power-packed fights begin at 8 p.m./CT.

Fighter weigh-ins are scheduled for Friday (Jan. 22) at 4 p.m. in the Magnolia Room in the Hollywood Hotel.

Saturday's action starts off with two undefeated and newly-tested middleweights, followed by two exciting female matchups that are both scheduled for four rounds. two welterweights who have much to prove will then go toe-to-toe before the two long-awaited heavyweight fights.

The main event highlights two heavyweights, including rising star "Big" Fred Kassi (14-1, 7 KOs), of New Orleans. He meets Puerto Rico native Moises Droz (13-8, 10 KOs). Droz currently lives and trains in Tampa.

Scheduled to fight in the opening bout of the night are middleweights Marcus McDaniel (1-0), of New Orleans, and Cleoney Fuqua (1-0). Fuqua is an Alabama native who lives and trains in Columbus, MS. Many boxing fans are talking about this bout.

The undercard will feature some very competitive and exciting action with two female bouts.

One female bout features New Orleans' Geni Taylor who is a National Golden Gloves and Silver Gloves champion. She'll fight Gulfport, MS native Jasmine Patton. They fought as amateurs and Taylor won a controversial decision.

The second female bout features middleweights April Ward (4-0, 4 KOs), of Batesville, AR, fighting Cassandra Lindsey, of Columbus, MS.

Lightweights battle it out when Bobby Hill (0-3), of Biloxi, MS, goes for his first win against Pensacola, FL's David Hill, who is making his pro debut.

A 6-round heavyweight battle is scheduled between Mobile, AL's Bobby O'Bannon (7-2, 7 KOs) Milledgeville, GA's Wes Taylor (7-14).
