From Greg Barckhoff

ROSWELL, GA - May 4, 2010.  It was a night of high-caliber, hard-hitting boxing action on Saturday in Atlanta as professional boxing fans came out for the "Big Rock Out 2."

The sold out crowd of 842 people inside Legends Event Center enjoyed nearly four hours of professional boxing at its finest as 14 fighters from six different weight divisions stepped into the ring to show off their boxing skills.

This high energy crowd combined with Legend’s intimate setting created the perfect atmosphere for southern fight fans to enjoy seven exciting bouts including a controversial main event.  These fans experienced a Vegas style boxing event like never seen before in Atlanta creating a lasting impression on everyone in attendance.

“We were extremely pleased with the competitiveness of all our bouts on Saturday and the crowd really got into early," said GregBarckhoff , managing partner of Sports Fan Properties. "It was a big night for boxing locally and around the world and we were pleased to part of all the fun, and we can’t wait for TBRO 3.”

The "Big Rock Out 2" main event between light middleweights Paul Delgado, of Atlanta, and Tuscaloosa, AL's Gundrick King went the 6-round distance as both fighters refused to give an inch. Several times the corners for both fighters found themselves in the ring in a shouting match.

Despite being knocked down twice in the first round, Delgado won a six-round unanimous decision to notch his 22nd professional victory (22-9-1, 4KOs) in front of his hometown fans. Scores of the match were 57-55 X 2 and 58-55. King fell to 12-5, 9 KO.

The co-main event of the evening featured the third USA vs. Mexico bout. Local lightweight favorite, Jose "Bazooka" Martinez was finally able to catch up with the elusive Michael Gibbons, from Birmingham, AL, and won a 4-round split decision. Martinez (4-1, 3KOs ) won on two cards by scores of 39-38 and 38-37. Gibbons (5-2, 1 KO). The crowd rose to their feet several times for this one with powerful chants for these two rising lightweights.

Macon cruiserweight Tobias Rice (2-0, 2 KOs) got the night started with a first-round knockout (at 2:29) of Savannah, TN's Cody Kennedy (0-2). The scheduled 4-rounder set the tone for an evening of hard punches and non-stop action.

In the night's lone heavyweight bout, Lexington, TN's Kelsey Arnold (2-4-2, 1 KO) dropped the hammer on Kelly Leo (1-1) with a hard right hand jab that sent Leo to the mat in a heap. The TKO came at 57 seconds of the fourth and final round.

The third and final knockout of the night came from the right hand of the lightning-quick super flyweight Daniel Lozano, of Bowling Green, FL, who improved his undefeated record to 3-0, 2 KOs with his KO first-round stoppage of Gainesville, GA's Thomas Heaton (0-2).

Local product, Atlanta welterweight Gerald Jordan, sporting an Atlanta Hawks jersey, improved to 6-1-1, 4 KOs with his 4-round unanimous decision victory over San Bernadino, CA's Alex Deon and was a crowd favorite. Jordan's sound technique and his crowd-pleasing self-promotion made him the night's most memorable fighter.
