Deep South Heavyweights Knocked Out In Maryland |

From Staff Reports FORT WASHINGTON MD - Two Deep South heavyweights lost decisions in separate bouts Sunday (Jan. 31) at Rosecroft Raceway. Maurice Winslow, from Wilson, NC, was knocked out at 1:31 of the first round by Washington, DC's Maurice Byarm. The 254.5-pound Byarm (6-0, 4 KOs) out-weighed Winslow (3-11-1, 1 KO) by just over 52 pounds. The match was scheduled for six rounds. In a match scheduled for four, Montgomery, AL's Kevin Howard lost to Springdale, MD's Abodurin Akinyanju by TKO in the final round. The fight was stopped at 1:03 of the round. Like Winslow, Howard (1-3-1), was out-weighed 287.5 pounds for Akinyanju (3-0, 3 KOs) to 240 for Howard.
