Lafayette, LA's Jessie Fletcher, won the 80-pound, 10-11-year-old age group at the Title National Championship Tournament in Ripley, TN on June 5. A decorated amateur boxer, Fletcher defeated Memphian Eugene Collins by RSC in the second round. Fletcher only started boxing in January of 2009, but has won four championships in his age group. At 5-foot-3, Kansas City, MO light middleweight Melisenda Perez is used to having to fight much taller opponents. Despite the height disadvantage, Perez has managed to be a force in her division. NASHVILLE - Host Boxing Resource Center won five matches Saturday (March 27) on the second and final day of the 2010 Mid-Tennessee Golden Gloves Tournament.
LaVergne Boxing Club followed Boxing Resource Center with four victories on Saturday, while Club KO had two wins.

From Staff Reports LULING, LA - Chad Dawson, the world light heavyweight champion, recently paid a visit to Luling, LA where he met up with James Boxing Club coach James Joseph and women's pro bantamweight Genie Taylor. Dawson also visited Mimosa Park Elementary School to meet with the kids who are involved in the James Joseph School of Boxing neighborhood program. (Dawson (29-0, 17 KOs) spoke to the youngsters about the importance of obedience toward parents and teachers.
