Lafayette, LA's Jessie Fletcher, won the 80-pound, 10-11-year-old age group at the Title National Championship Tournament in Ripley, TN on June 5. A decorated amateur boxer, Fletcher defeated Memphian Eugene Collins by RSC in the second round. Fletcher only started boxing in January of 2009, but has won four championships in his age group. At 5-foot-3, Kansas City, MO light middleweight Melisenda Perez is used to having to fight much taller opponents. Despite the height disadvantage, Perez has managed to be a force in her division. JONESBORO, TN - Host Johnson City Athletic Club won the most matches with six during the Saturday (Oct. 17) show at Davey Crockett High School.

Not only did the hosts win the most matches, but Johnson City Athletic Club (JCAC) also won the night's Best Boxer Award. And a JCAC fighter was involved in a bout that was selected the show's Best Bout of the Night.

JCAC 178-pounder Robert Hall Jr. was selected the show's Best Boxer. Hall's decision win over Hendersonville, NC's Jamie Hill, was voted Bout of the Night.

JACKSON, TN - Decatur (AL) Boxing Team and host Jackson Boxing Club each won three championship matches Saturday (Oct. 10) as Jackson Boxing Club hosted its initial show of the season before an enthusiastic audience, according to JBC officials.

85 pounds - Trevian Williams (Decatur, AL) def. William Reyes (Nashville)

JACKSON, TN - The opening season for Jackson Boxing Club is Saturday, Oct. 10, at our gym at 221 Sycamore Street..

Weigh-ins will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Teams are expected to come from Mississippi, Arkansas, Alabama, Memphis& Nashville, along with clubs from all across West Tennessee. We are expecting to have around 20 bouts and will be giving 14 Outstanding & Sportsmanship Awards.

All ages and weight classes (Beginner, Novice and Open Divisions) will be contested.

Admission is $5, with children 6-and-under admitted free.

Allen Wins Fighter Of The Night Award At Hands Of Stone Show PDF Print E-mail

BAKER, LA - Carencro's Backstreet Boxing Club won the most matches (4) matches Saturday (Sept. 26) at the Hands of Stone amateur show.

Clubs with three victories included Shreveport's Stephens Boxing & Fitness and Lafayette's Breaux Brothers Boxing Club. Hands of Stone, Lake Charles Boxing Club and ABC Boxing Club all finished with two wins.

Hands of Stone boxer Henry Allen II won the Fighter of the Night award.
