Lafayette, LA's Jessie Fletcher, won the 80-pound, 10-11-year-old age group at the Title National Championship Tournament in Ripley, TN on June 5. A decorated amateur boxer, Fletcher defeated Memphian Eugene Collins by RSC in the second round. Fletcher only started boxing in January of 2009, but has won four championships in his age group. At 5-foot-3, Kansas City, MO light middleweight Melisenda Perez is used to having to fight much taller opponents. Despite the height disadvantage, Perez has managed to be a force in her division. Perez won a 4-round unanimous decision over Batesville, AR's April Ward Saturday night (July 10) on Les Bonano's "Battle On The Bay" card at Hollywood Casino. Read more...

BAY ST. LOUIS, MS - Make no mistake about it, Derrick "Superman" Findley is not an "opponent," a tomato can brought in by the promoter so the local fighter can pad his record. Not by a long shot.
Findley showed he is something to be reckoned with Saturday night (July10) in the middleweight main event on Les Bonano's "Battle On The Bay" card from Hollywood Casino. Findley broke down Zane "The Train" Marks round by round on the way to knocking out Marks at 2:04 of the fourth round.

HATTIESBURG, MS - Aurora Entertainment LLC and Bare-Knuckle Promotions put on a thrilling night of professional boxing in Hattiesburg. The card featured two undefeated heavyweights, U.S. Olympic Bronze medalist, Deontay Wilder, and undefeated heavyweight prospect Kelvin Price. The two did not fight each other on the July 3 card, however this is something that is a definite possibility in the near future.
Promoter Dr. Rashad Ali made his boxing promotion debut to a packed house of cheering and grateful fans. Special guests in the house were none other than the legendary Roy Jones Jr., Lynyrd Skynyrd legend Artimus Pyle, and James Alexander, former band mate of the legendary late Otis Redding. Additionally, working Wilder's corner, former U.S.Olympic Gold Medalist, and two-time world champ Mark Breland, was in the house.

On Saturday, July 3, 2010, 6 pm, at Club Palace, featured will be undefeated boxing heavyweights and co-main events, Kelvin “The Price is Right” Price, who boasts a record of 7- 0 and from the camp of Oscar De La Hoya, former Olympic Champion, 10-0, Deontay “The Bronze Bomber” Wilder. Also, going pro, former Golden Glove Champion, Hattiesburg’s own Curtis “Babyface” Johnson Jr. will also be featured. Also, at Club Palace, the weigh-in will be held on Friday at 6:00pm.

RAYNE, LA - On July 31, there will be an amazing display of hot local boxing talent at the Rayne Civic Center.
In sitting in the corner, I am only able to give instructions, whether the fighter follows them or not, is really their call. There is nothing in this world as bad as seeing one of my fighters fall in defeat. That is unfortunate, heart-breaking and just flat out depressing.
