GREENSBORO, NC - Junior middleweight contender Jimmy Lange (33-4-2, 23 KOs) won Friday night (Aug. 20) with a convincing six-round decision (60-50, 60-50, 59-52) over Baltimore's Mike McFail (12-40-2, 4 KOs) in the main event on Walter Johnson Promotions' "Friday Night KO Fights" card from the Coliseum Complex War Memorial Auditorium.

Lange scored knockdowns in the third and sixth rounds, both courtesy of an effective right.

Lange came out dominating in the first round utilizing his trademark stiff jab causing enough damage where McFail was issued a standing eight count. The former "Contender" star, fighting out of Great Falls, VA, pressed the action throughout the contest and finished strongly by battering a game, but wobbly, McFail in the final stanza.

Lange will face Baltimore veteran Mike McFail in a six-round special attraction bout as part of Walter Johnson Promotion's Friday Night KO Fights at the Greensboro (NC) Coliseum Complex's War Memorial Auditorium. It will be Lange's first fight outside of his hometown since May 2005, when he defeated Tarick Salmaci in a "Fan Favorite" contest as part of The Contender series at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, NV.

RAYNE, LA - There were some exciting and competitive fights leading up to hometown favorite Mason Menard's 7th-round TKO of Robbie Cannon for the UBO All-Americas Lightweight championship Saturday night (July 31) at the Rayne Civic Center on "The Heat Is On" card.

In what I had said would be the fight of the night, nearly was, as Chalmette welterweight Gary Bergeron and Michigan's Reggie Nash went to war in a bout scheduled for six rounds. Bergeron (12-5, 7 KOs) won by KO in the fourth round.

These two guys waged war against one another with neither giving ground to the other. Bergeron hit Nash (9-25-1, 2 KOs) with good body shots and great head shots. Nash answered back immediately with his own combination.

From Staff Reports

TEXARKANA, AR - Lafayette, LA cruiserweight Blake Prevost was sensational Wednesday night (Jan. 6) as he scored a devastating first-round knockout over hometown hopeful Danny McNabb on the McMurry Promotions boxing vcard from Shooters Sports Bar.

Prevost (13-1-1, 5 KOs) dropped the aggressive McNabb (1-1, 1 KO) with a straight left high on the head after about 45 seconds. McNabb rose from the mandatory eight-count determined to get even.

Prevost used his ring skills to evade McNabb's charge and then landed a right hook from his southpaw stance that left McNabb in a heap on the canvas, unable to beat the count from referee Tony McMurry. The knockout came at 1:12 of the first round in a bout that was scheduled for four.

In the only bout of the evening to go the full four-round distance, Columbus, MS light middleweight Gundrick King won his third straight bout via a unanimous decision over local favorite Oscar Roville.
